Weida Mae Nelson

Weida Mae Nelson, 29, of Weatherford, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021. Weida was born July 18, 1991, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Bruce and Shelia McCoy Barksdale. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother. Weida loved to spend time with her family and had a passion for baking. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Nelson; her dad, Bruce Barksdale; step-father, Louis Fontenot; as well as her grandparents.

She is survived by her son, Koda Ray Nelson; mother, Shelia Barksdale; siblings, Douglas Barksdale, Michael Lucas and wife, Kristan, and Courtney Whitman and husband, Rodie; step children, Hagen and Destany Nelson; step grandson, Bexton; mother in law, Wanda Nelson; brothers in law, Jason Nelson, and Jody Nelson and wife, Donna; nieces and nephews, Kash and Hudson Lucas, Sage and Allie Whitman, Bowdy, Daniel and Hayley Nelson.

Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Funeral service: 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, with a graveside to follow in Bethesda Cemetery.
