Weida Mae Nelson

Weida Mae Nelson, 29, of Weatherford passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021. Weida was born July 18, 1991 in Fort Worth, Texas to Bruce and Shelia McCoy Barksdale. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother. Weida loved to spend time with her family and had a passion for baking. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Nelson, her dad Bruce Barksdale, step-father Louis Fontenot, as well as her grandparents.

She is survived by her son, Koda Ray Nelson; mother, Shelia Barksdale; siblings, Douglas Barksdale, Michael Lucas and wife Kristan and Courtney Whitman and husband Rodie; step children, Hagen and Destany Nelson; step grandson, Bexton; mother in law, Wanda Nelson; brothers in law, Jason Nelson and Jody Nelson and wife Donna; nieces and nephews, Kash and Hudson Lucas, Sage and Allie Whitman, Bowdy, Daniel and Hayley Nelson.

Visitation: 6-8 pm, Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Funeral service: 11 am, Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel with a graveside to follow in Bethesda Cemetery.
