Wanda Joyce Powers

September 23, 1929 — April 5, 2010

Wanda Joyce Powers went into the arms of Jesus on April 5, 2010 surrounded by her family after a long illness. Wanda was born September 23, 1929 to Virgil and Annie Lou Rampley in Siloam, Texas and was raised in East Texas. She married J.W. Powers on December 28, 1947 and they made their home in Weatherford.

“Mamma” cherished her family especially her grandchildren. She was never too busy to mend a scratched knee or broken heart. She never judged or offered unwelcome advice, just a smile and a hug. She will be missed here but we rejoice in knowing that she is in Jesus arms.

Mom was a retired dental assistant and a member of Eureka Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Annie Lou Rampley, husband JW Powers, sister Laura McCathern two granddaughters, Cinnamon Porter and Lorri Ann Shell.

Survivors: Daughters, Gail Raif of Weatherford, Debbie Newberry and husband Tommy Newberry of Millsap; grandchildren, Rick Jordan, Timmy and Tammy Yeary.
