Walter Pinkman Parsons

September 26, 1946 — February 18, 2017

Walter Parsons was the most kind-hearted follower of Christ than anyone alive. He believed in the power of the word and lived true to it in everything that he did. He loved so many things but always had his priorities in order from his faith, his love for Dee, and his family. He would do anything for anyone without being asked. A councilor too many, but more importantly a friend to everyone.
Walter, Walt, Waltman, Grandpa were the things he was known as by so many that loved him. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Weatherford where he was actively involved in anything that he could be from the choir to the community. When not at church he enjoyed taking long drives with Dee, fishing anywhere that he could, hitting up garage sales for that next project, and spending as much time with his 36 grandkids and 31 great grandkids as he could. He was just as much a kid as they were.
Walter Pinkman Parsons was born September 26, 1946 to Doris Morris Parsons and Norell Parsons at Bridgeport Community Hospital. He would be the oldest of three children. Sister Norlene Gleaton and brother Waverly Parsons would bring much joy and music into his life.
Walter graduated from Brownwood in 1964 and joined the US Army where he actively served until he had fulfilled his duties. In 1969, Walter welcomed his first son Walter Brian Parsons and soon after Robert Neal Parsons would join their family.
In 1998, Walter married the love of his life Dee Holcomb which expanded his family even more gaining a daughter and three more sons: Larry Douglas Holcomb, Tonya Kay Hull, Kenneth Ray Holcomb, and Chris Weldon Holcomb.
Walter was a Christian many of many trades. From serving in the army, serving as a Fire Chief for Millsap Fire Department, Peace Officer, and engineer for AT&T for 21 years, and a Special Education Teacher for Weatherford ISD.
Walter is preceded in death by his father Norell Waverly Parsons and brother-in-law Dennis Gleaton.
Walter is survived by his wife Dee Holcomb, Mother Doris Morris Parsons; Brother Waverly Parsons and wife Brenda; Sister Norlene Gleaton; Sons Brian Parsons and wife Elisa, Robert Parsons and wife Monica; Son Larry Holcomb; Daughter Tonya Hull and husband Bobby; Son Kenneth Holcomb; Son Chris Holcomb and wife Lisa; 36 grand kids and 31 great grand kids; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
