Virginia Mae Peoples King passed away on June 6, 2017, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 81. Virginia was born to Lanham and Lillian Peoples, on March 15, 1936, in Weatherford, Texas.
Virginia lived the majority of her life in Weatherford and was a longtime member of Victory Baptist Church. She was a fighter who had been struggling with chronic pain -- and later other severe health issues – for the last 32 years. Her battle is over, and she is no longer in pain. Even with all her struggles, Virginia greatly loved her children and grandchildren and prayed for them all daily. Educated in Weatherford schools, Virginia married the love of her life, Bob King, on October 19, 1952 – they would have celebrated 65 years of marriage this fall.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Bobby King of Weatherford and their three children, Pam King and her husband, Ralph of Keller, Tom King and his wife, Shelly of Midland, Kim Barrett and her husband, Richard of Kennedale; four grandchildren, Bryan Barrett and his wife, Charla, Logan Barrett and his wife, Elise, and Kylie King and Kierston King; two great-grandchildren, Blake and Brax Barrett; brother, Jake Peoples of Weatherford; brother-in-law, Weldon and sister-in-law, Ann King of Santa Fe; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Vicky King; her mother and father-in-law, Paschal and Inez King; her sister, Margie Nash; her brothers, Charles and Raymond; and sister-in-law, Betty Carter.
Funeral 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Victory Baptist Church. Brother Rob Catuto will officiate. Visitation 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 9, 2017, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
The family wishes to thank the caregivers who have been such a big part of her life for the last several years: Christine, Marge, and Marilyn.
