Thomas "Tom" Mitchell, Sr.

Thomas Mitchell, Sr. passed away the morning of Sunday, July 23, 2023 at the age of 82. He leaves behind his wife Sandy, four sons, nine grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.

To many Tom was a larger-than-life figure. From his hands to his tall tales nothing about him was ever small. He was a gifted horseman, wainwright, and blacksmith who always found the value in bringing life back to things long left to rust. Those that knew him in his youth can tell stories of a man who wouldn't take lip from anyone and who commanded any situation with just one shake of his fist or a stern look. Those that knew him in his later years know a man simply delighted to tinker in his crafts or swap stories with family and friends. The lives he touched in one way or another are forever changed. His presence in the lives of all that knew him will be missed every day.

Services for Tom will be held at Long Creek Cemetery at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, the 28th of July. Flowers and cards may be sent to Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Addresses for both are listed below.
