Shonda Lou Harkey

Shonda Lou Harkey of Weatherford passed away on July 14, 2023, at the age of 64.

Shonda Lou Harkey (Lloyd) was born on September 23, 1958, to Dorothy and Johnny Lloyd. She was preceded in death by her father and her spoiled pup, Sparkey Harkey.

Shonda was one of many talents. There wasn’t much that she could not do and she loved a challenge to learn something new. She was a typical Jack of all trades, but most certainly a master of many. Shonda committed her entire career to RadioShack, where she was named top salesperson multiple times in her career and received multiple awards.

She then focused her love and attention to being a full-time caregiver to her grandson, Aiden, in 2013, and eventually her second and third grandchildren, Nathan and Maddux. Shonda’s time was best spent surrounded by her family. She loved her two daughters more than life and would do anything for them. She dedicated her entire life to ensuring they were taken care of.

Most would describe Shonda as an honest, reliable, giving, and loyal friend, but those who knew her know that she was so much more.

Shonda is survived by her oldest daughter, Tiffany, and her father, Rocky Stogner; son-in-law Brandon Medders, and children, Max and Madison Medders; youngest daughter, Melissa, and her father, Glen Harkey; son-in-law, Benjamin Carlson, and children, Aiden Harkey-Ellis, and Nathan and Maddux Carlson; sister, Belinda Lloyd; as well as a host of family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 28, 2023, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm St, Weatherford, Texas 76086.

The family is asking in lieu of flowers to please make donations to Global Gastroschisis Foundation, as well as, the Autism Society of America in honor of her grandchildren, Aiden and Nathan.
