Shirley Ann Winblood

June 3, 1942 — October 26, 2014

On Sunday, October 26, 2014 Shirley Karnes Winblood went to her Heavenly Home after a year long fight with pancreatic cancer. She fought the good fight with Grace and Faith for her family.  Shirley was born June 3, 1942 in Fort Worth, Texas to Jesse Doyle Karnes and Faye Herriott Karnes who preceded her in death. Raised on the west side of Fort Worth, Shirley met Tommy Marcus Winblood while attending Arlington Heights High School, she later moved to Aledo where she graduated from Aledo High School. Shirley and Tommy were married in 1961. They have three children, eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Daughter Tonya Cook and husband Trey of Houston whose children are Travis, Emily and Garrett; daughter Tammie Crockett and husband Jim of Brock and children Dustin, Carson, and Sheay; son Mark Winblood and wife Sheri of Weatherford and children Kyle and Bethany, Diane, DeAnn, and Duane; one brother Jerry Karnes and wife Arlene of Weatherford. Shirley and Tommy served as Sunday School department directors for young married couples at North Side Baptist Church in Weatherford. Shirley had a heart for ministry to young women. She was patient in council with those of her classes and family that needed her experience. Shirley studied many years in Bible Study Fellowship. She taught Women's Ministry at the Baptist church in Richland Hills and North Side in Weatherford.

Visitation:6 to 8 p.m, Tuesday at Galbreaith-Pickard.
Funeral: 2p.m, Wednesday, at North Side Baptist Church.
Memorials: Texas Oncology in Weatherford.
