Samuel Franklin Hunt

November 25, 1936 — March 16, 2016

Samuel “Sam/Pappy” Franklin Hunt, III, 79, of Weatherford, passed away Wednesday March 16, 2016, at his home.
Sam was born November 25, 1936, in Beeville, Texas, to Samuel Franklin, Jr. and Mary Hunt.   Sam retired from Lockheed-Marin after over 30 years of service. Sam was an avid fisherman, gun collector, and builder of model airplanes.  Additionally, he was a serious Harley Biker and a member of ‘Hunt Sharkers.’  He was both a Mason and a Shriner.    Sam “had a way of making people laugh” and had a personal library of numerous jokes.  Sam cherished time spent with his family.
Sam is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Samuel F. “Sonny” Hunt, IV (Christy), Kenneth Scott Hunt, Lisa Gay Malone, Randall Dean Clark (Amy), and Tracy Lynn Sharp (Rusty); 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; his sister, Mary Ann Waymack; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents. 
 



Visitation will be held at the Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel from 4 until 6 P.M., on Sunday, March 20, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, in Weatherford.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, at the funeral home.
 Burial will be held on at Hunt Cemetery near Georgetown, Texas at a later date.
