Sammie James Simmons, Jr.

Sammie James Simmons, Jr., 86, of Weatherford, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021. He was born September 22, 1934, in Marlow, Oklahoma, to Sam Simmons and Lissie Smith Simmons. 

Sammie was a building contractor, and was in the Carpenter's Union. He was also member of Silverado Cowboy Church. Sammie loved horses, guns and spending time with his with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Delma, and his sister, Betty DeGraffenried.

Sammie is survived by his sons, David Simmons and wife, Kathleen of Weatherford, Jonathan Simmons and wife, Linda of San Jose, California, and Daniel Dee Simmons and wife, Janet of Powell Butte, Oregon; brother, Clifford H. Simmons and wife, Patricia of Glen Rose; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral Ceremony: 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Silverado Cowboy Church. Committal Service: 9:00 a.m., Friday, June 25, 2021, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
