Ruthie Lee Norman

Ruthie Lee Norman, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed   from this life on Sunday, October 29, 2006 at Harris Methodist Hospital. Born February 11th, 1926 to Walter Lee Durham and Mornia Agnus Durham, Ruthie, was the oldest of six children and was a lifelong resident of Parker County. She graduated from Millsap High School in 1945 and married her high school sweetheart James Lilburn Norman, son of Tom and Myrt Norman, also a lifelong resident of Parker County, On June 26, 1945. They were blessed with 58 years together before her beloved husbands death on February 14, 2004. She was a homemaker and partner with her husband and children in farming watermelon, cantaloupe and raising delicious Parker County peaches. Ruthie could make the best peach cobbler you ever tasted. She and her husband raised four children. Preceding her in death were three brothers, Karl Durham, Charles Ralph Durham and a newborn baby brother. Surviving them are their children: Randy Norman and wife Dinah of Pangburn, Arkansas, LaDonna Norman of Garner, Christine Youngblood of Millsap, and Janet Flynt and husband Robert of Millsap. Grandchildren: Rhonda Davis and husband Josh, Kyle Norman and wife Angie, Staci Nichols and husband Mike, Jordan Youngblood, Colby Barnett, Destin Flynt, Garret Flynt, and Brandon Lund. Great grandchildren: Rebecca, Thomas, and Lauren Davis,  Kyler and Jax Lyn(J.L.) Norman, sisters: Margie Oliver and Lucille Plumlee and husband L.C. sister-in-law, Jean Durham.. Also surviving  are nephews, nieces, and many friends. Ruthie and Lilburn spent many happy years together enjoying traveling, camping, fishing, and going to garage sales. She loved and was loved, and forever will live in our hearts. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday November 2, 2006, In the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 1, 2006  from 7Pm-9pm .
