Ruth Marie Hawkins

Ruth Marie Hawkins, age 86, passed from this life to her Heavenly Home in the early morning hours of Thursday, December 9, 2021, at her residence in Hudson Oaks, TX. Ruth was born on January 27, 1935, in Humble, TX to Garl Otis Engle and Olga Theresa (Peitrich) Engle. She was a member of Lakeshore Baptist Church in Hudson Oaks, TX, a past president of the Hudson Oaks Garden Club, and a volunteer with the Senior Center delivering Meals on Wheels. She was a homemaker and mom whose hobbies included sewing and reading.

In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. Hawkins, and brother, Robert Engle.

Left to cherish Ruth's memory are her loving family: daughter and son-in-law, Debra Kemp and Daniel Clark of Hudson Oaks, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Randall T. and Ardis Hawkins of Euless, TX; sister, Shirley Trotter of Kokomo, IN; brothers Harley Engle of Kokomo, IN and Earl Engle of Hendersonville, NC; brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Rose Engle of Galveston, IN; granddaughters - Amber Kemp, Shannon Carufe, Melanie Martin, Bonnie Cave, and Meredith McCurry; 7 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
