Russ Alan Jones, 62, passed away unexpectedly August 23, 2023. Russ is survived by his beautiful wife, Pamela, of Aledo, Texas, and daughter and son-in-law, Caitlin and Preston Isham, of Ft. Worth.

Russ was born to Coy and Dixie Jones September 27, 1960. After graduating from Brownfield High School, Brownfield Texas, 1979, Russ attended South Plains College in Levelland, Texas, receiving his Associate’s Degree in Welding Technology, continuing studies at Angelo State in San Angelo, graduating from Tarleton State University, Stephenville, Texas, 1988, with a BS in Industrial Technology. Russ completed graduate studies at Dallas Baptist University, obtaining his MBA in 2000. Russ’ career in aerospace began with LTV, Grand Prairie, in 1988, which was eventually Vought Aircraft, later merging with Northrop Grumman. He moved from the Grand Prairie plant to the Sector Headquarters in Las Colinas. He eventually moved to the Lockheed Martin plant in Fort Worth, but still remained as an employee of Northrop Grumman. Russ retired as a manufacturing engineer from Northrop Grumman, October 1, 2020. Russ was exceptionally proud of his contributions to the B-2 Stealth Bomber, C-17 Globemaster and the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. Russ loved his chosen career in aerospace.

Passions and interests Russ enjoyed included anything his daughter was involved in or participated in. He was a very quick study in the world of theatre and musicals, in awe of Caitlin’s accomplishments and never prouder than having a permanent front row seat to all her endeavors and aspirations. He loved art of all mediums and was an accomplished sculptor. Russ gave his time and immense talents to family and friends, many the recipient of gifts of his own design and construction. Russ was self-taught in numerous areas of his choosing and those which would further his assistance to others. Russ enjoyed the “art of the grill” and Texas High School football, specifically his beloved Aledo Bearcats. Russ volunteered with various organizations, a member of several. Blood donation to Carter Blood Care was regularly scheduled and he had contributed to various blood banks throughout his adult life. Russ proudly served as ordained deacon, first at Hampton Road Baptist, DeSoto, and later First Baptist Willow Park, Willow Park. Russ was a student of his Bible, spending time daily in devotional and God’s word. During the past years Russ found joy in West Texas, enjoying the wide-open spaces, photographing and sharing pictures with his “community”. It was there he completely refurbished his father-in-law’s 1953 Ferguson tractor. Russ also previously completed the task of total restoration of his dad’s 1961 Ford F-100.

Russ and Pamela married March 10, 1984. They enjoyed 39 years of life, marriage and travel in the U.S. and to numerous foreign countries. Besides the aforementioned survivors, Russ is survived by his mother, Dixie Jones of Brownfield, brother, Dr. Matt Jones (Sherry) of Tyler, Texas, sister, Martha Everheart (Clay) of Bronte, Texas and brother, Walt Jones (Kim), Arlington, Texas.
