Roy J. Rothrock

April 30, 1929 — November 24, 2006

Roy J. Rothrock, of Weatherford, died at home Friday, November 24, 2006 at the age of 77.  Roy was born April 30, 1929 in Benton County, Arkansas to Gordon and Pearl Rothrock.  He served eight years in the Air Force and was awarded the UN Medal, Korean Service Medal and 3 Unit Citations while serving one year in Korea.  Roy was a member of General Walton H. Walker Chapter 215 of the Korean War Veterans Association, a life member of the VFW and an Elk.  He and his wife, Lorraine lived in the Fort Worth area since January of 1959.  They were members of the Good Sam RV Club and 10 year members of the Honey Do Sam’s Chapter where he held several offices. He was a retired Air Traffic Controller for the FAA. Roy was preceded in death by five brothers; five sisters; one grandson; and one great-grandson.   Roy is survived by his wife, Mae Lorraine (McCoy) Rothrock, of 53 years; daughter, Karen Rothrock of Garland, Texas; sons, Jerry Rothrock of Moscow Mills, Missouri and Steve Rothrock and his wife, Grace, of Weatherford, Texas; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandsons; 2 brothers, Arch Rothrock of California and Richard Rothrock of Wichita Falls, Texas; 5 sisters, Bethel Thompson of Placentia, California, Vera Garvin of Joplin, Missouri, Ruby West of Enid, Oklahoma, Nellie Doss of Collinsville, Oklahoma, and Hazel Taylor of Wichita Falls, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.  Graveside service: 11 a.m. Tuesday at DFW National CemeteryVisitation: Monday 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel
