Rosemary Catherine Price

January 17, 1927 — January 16, 2023

Rosemary Catherine (Lyden) Price born on January 17, 1927, in Columbus, Ohio to John and Catherine Lyden. She was the oldest of three children. When she was little they moved to Miami, Florida. Her mother taught Catechism at the local Catholic Church. Rosemary became involved in the church at this time!

At an early age Rosemary became involved in piano and singing. Rosemary was cast in Junior High and High School productions. Two of the main productions were South Pacific and Oklahoma! She participated in many piano recitals and also performed with the Miami Opera Guild. During the performances she was noticed by several large-name fashion designers. When Rosemary was not performing or going to school she was used as a model for the designers. After high school Rosemary attended a Music Conservatory in Pennsylvania at the age of 17. Rosemary loved performing in front of an audience, and she tried out for the lead role of Peter Pan against Mary Martin! She landed many off Broadway shows and was still involved in the Miami Opera. After the conservatory Rosemary decided to try another profession and turned to the skies. A stewardess was the next step in her journey of life. She worked her way up to being a supervisor and scheduling for her group at Delta Airlines in Miami. She had some amazing stories and traveled extensively. Her former music background helped secure the position received in the USO. She traveled to many bases and entertained the troops across the United States.

Rosemary married her first husband and had three children. John Lott was Episcopalian, and mom moved her church home from Catholic to Episcopalian. She became involved with Bible studies at the church. Rosemary exemplified what a Christian mother should be to her children. She eventually moved to Miami, Florida and started selling real estate at her father’s real estate office (Mickler and Lyden Real Estate). First she became a salesperson and then finished schooling to be a broker! Her job was to manage 800 apartment complexes.

After retiring to North Carolina for a time, she and her second husband moved permanently to Fort Worth. Rosemary became a permanent grandmother (Grammy) and helped raise 6 grandchildren. She and Ed went to a local Baptist Church; they got very involved with their Sunday school class. She shared her Christian faith with her grandchildren. Rosemary didn’t stop there because at the age of 82 she sold her house and moved to College Station. Her granddaughter needed a baby sitter, and Grammy came to the rescue. She watched Britain while Christy finished her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and Jayson worked.

Rosemary passed away on January 16, 2023, at the age of 95. She peacefully passed away, and heaven has another angel.

Rosemary is survived by her children, John Lott of Missoula, MT, Peter Lyden of FortWorth, TX, Mary Lou Benware and husband, Kenneth of Weatherford, TX, and stepson, Bill Price of Wellesley Hills, MA; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Henry Lyden of Wellesley Hills, MA; and daughter-in-law, Sherry Lyden of Fort Worth, TX.
