Ronald Wayne Overton

  Ronald Wayne Overton, 72 , passed away Monday, September 16, 2013 at his residence.

  Ron was born March 8, 1941, in Fort Worth, to Samuel H. Overton and Dorothy Angell Overton. He grew up in the River Oaks section of Fort Worth and attended Castleberry H.S. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1959 to 1963. He also served as a Peace Officer for the city of Fort Worth. He was a member of the American Legion Post #163 in Weatherford.

  Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Dorothy Overton and a nephew, Robert M. Overton.

  Survivors: daughter, Dorothy Gaye Parker of Weatherford and grandson, Jeremy Lehman of Pennsylvania; brothers, Samuel H. Overton, Jr. and wife, Etha of Weatherford, Robert E. Overton and wife, Paddy of Arlington, and James S. Overton and wife, Ann of Springtown; and several nephews and nieces.
 
  Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 28, at Grace Baptist Church, 1300 North Rusk, Weatherford.

  Graveside and interment will be in the DFW National Cemetery.
