Robert Lynn Shanklin, 69, of Millsap passed away April 8, 2017. He was born February 23, 1948 in Dallas, to Artie and Jacle Cannon Shanklin. Robert was a Kabota salesman and Rancher, currently raising Corriente cattle. He was a member at PCCC and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Robert enjoyed hunting, roping, riding horses. He also enjoyed flying and was in the process of getting his aviation license. His parents, wife, Loretta and niece, Melody Williamson preceded him in death.
Survivors include his dog, Sally; sisters, Sharon Wilson and Cindy Ware and husband Logan; nephew, Jeffrey Jay Johnson and wife Melissa; nieces, Shauna Stransky and husband Stephen and Cristel Hopkins and husband Chad; great-nieces, Savannah Williamson, Destiny Johnson, Kinleigh Portales; great-nephews, Forrest Williamson, Sloan Stransky, Seth Stransky, Cole Portales, Brock Hopkins; numerous extended family and friends.
Visitation is 6-8 pm, Wednesday at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel. Funeral Services are 11 am, Thursday, April 13 at Parker County Cowboy Church. Burial is 2 pm Thursday at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Donations may be made in Robert’s name to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch at https://www.calfarley.org or to Scottish Rite Hospital for Children at http://www.tsrhc.org.
