Robert L Moore

October 15, 1939 — March 17, 2021

Robert L. Moore, 81, peacefully went to be with the Lord on March 17, 2021. Robert was born on October 15, 1939, in Friendswood, TX to Foy and Clorene (Ruckman) Moore. He was taught scripture by his parents, preached his first sermon at the age of 14, continuously yearned for deeper wisdom and shared his adoration of our Lord with many people.
Robert was the 1958 Valedictorian of Bronte High School and met his wife Annette while attending San Angelo College. After graduation from SAC, he continued his education at The University of Texas receiving an Engineering Science degree.
Robert held positions as an engineer, an Austin area realtor, a Houseparent and Asst. Superintendent at the Tipton Children’s Home, a Production Foreman for Marlin Oil and lastly an operator of oil/gas production. He enjoyed tooling leather crafts and liked catching rattlesnakes, until he got bit by one. Robert was a lifetime member of the NRA, the SPE and a Texas Relays official for many years.
An engineer to his core, Robert always sought to invent, repair and improve. This creative desire, lead to an invention collaboration with Windel Mayfield and they were granted a US patent for a unique casing plunger (PAL) that would improve oil/gas productivity.
Residing in Perryton, TX for 20 years, Robert was an elder at the Perryton Church of Christ. He later assisted with a Walk to Emmaus in Waka, TX, where he helped lead several walks and exercised his discipleship. In order to be closer to their 9 grandchildren, Robert and Annette moved to Weatherford, TX in 2000. They worshipped with the Oak Ridge Church of Christ. Annette went to be with the Lord in 2016.
In July 2018, Robert reconnected with a friend from Perryton; their relationship blossomed and in Nov. 2018, Lynn Crain and Robert were blissfully married. Robert and Lynn enjoyed traveling, visiting family, laughing and deeply loving each other every day. We are comforted to know that Lynn was by his side, as Robert passed from earth into the presence of God! We are so thankful to have experienced the loyal love, so freely poured out by Robert L. Moore.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Rae Annette Duncan Moore; parents, Foy L. and Clorene Moore; sister, June Moore Lee; son, Ty Markart; granddaughter, Kalyn Moore; grandson, Reece Moore; and nephew, Todd Mullican.
