May 3, 1926 — August 20, 2016

Retired SFC Robert “Bob” Eugene Wilson passed away Saturday morning, August 20, 2016 in Weatherford, Texas, after a lengthy illness. Also known by many of his coon hunter and bird hunting friends as “Sarg”, he was born May 3rd, 1926 in Boone County, Iowa, where he left there at the age of 18 and joined the United States Army, and was sent to Germany in the infantry division. He was stationed in many different camps throughout his military career; then he was sent to Camp Walters base till it became Fort Wolters, where he retired in 1966. He started a new career still with the Government, a new program named “Neighborhood Youth Program”. The program transitioned into many new names ending with Job Training Partnership Act, retiring in 1988 after helping thousands of kids learn to work in the working world and succeed. He then put all of his focus on the one thing he loved the most, gardening and giving to friends, neighbors, as he wanted everyone to enjoy the treasures he grew. His other time was spent fishing, hunting and just enjoying being with friends and family.
