Richard Walter Blevins

  Richard Walter Blevins, Sr., age 86, of Weatherford, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at a local nursing facility. Richard was born March 14, 1930, in Granbury, to Ralph and Willie Roberson Blevins. He worked for TXDOT road maintenance after serving his country proudly in the Army during the Korean War.

  Richard is survived by his daughter, Vickie Blevins of Weatherford; son, Richard Blevins, Jr. and his wife, Gayla of Granbury; brother, Eugene Blevins; sister-in-law, Betty of Weatherford; grandchildren, Kurt Brewer and his wife, Alicia of Victoria, Christopher Blevins of White Settlement, Christy Morse and her husband, William of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Terry, Colton, Dalton, Starr, Braydon, Koree and Ian; and one great-great grandchild, Arabella.

  Richard was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mickey Blevins; sisters, Betty Waggner, Willie Dean Harris, and Anita Bailey; and brother, Billy H. Blevins.

  Funeral 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Interment Herring Cemetery 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Bill Blevins will officiate. Visitation 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 22, 2016 at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
