Willow Park – Kent Sears, 81, passed away Wednesday March 9, 2022, suddenly and peacefully. Funeral: 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 15th, at Galbreaith Pickard Hilltop Chapel, in Willow Park. Burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery near Granbury. Visitation 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, prior to funeral.
Kent was born June 11, 1940, in Vernon, to Ross and Virginia Sears. He was a descendant of one of the earliest pioneer families to settle in Wilbarger County. Kent was married to Denna Hickey on June 1, 1957. He was raised in church as a young boy beginning at Ridglea West Church of Christ and later he and Denna raised their own children and grandchildren at West Freeway Church of Christ. The last several years Kent has been worshiping with his family at The Hills West Fort Worth campus. Kent was an entrepreneur his whole life. He had an upholstery business owned Sunburst Builders and commercial property. Kent loved his family deeply and was proud of his sons and the families they created. He was extremely close with his baby sister Susie and loved her dearly.
Kent was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Denna; parents, Virginia and Ross Shannon Sears; brother, Alan Sears; and infant sister, Judith Ann Sears.
Survivors: Sons, Randall Sears and wife, Diane, of Weatherford, and Chad Sears and wife, Vicki, of Willow Park; sister, Susan Bruce of Euless; Grandchildren, Ammber Tedford, Shannon Brown and spouse, Jason, Corey Sears and spouse, Kaylee, Chad Sears, Jr. and spouse, Whitney, Connor Sears and girlfriend, Krista Campbell; Great Grandchildren, Maddox Tedford; Olivia and Walker Brown; Caleb, Hulen, and Scarlett Sears; Step Great Grandchildren, April, Lily, and Emma; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to South Main Church of Christ fbo James L. Smith (member of Gospel Sharing Ministry) at 3596 State Hwy 43 E., Henderson, Texas 75652.
