Preston Wayne Jones

   Preston Wayne Jones passed away Monday, July 11, 2011. He was born December 28, 1928 in Yatesboro, Pennsylvania to Preston and Juanita Schriver Jones. Preston was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Weatherford. Throughout the years Preston held various offices, was a trustee, an elder and president of the congregation. He was a life member of DAV, an avid hunter, fisherman and cattleman. Also, Preston enjoyed woodworking: especially making toy chest and bird houses for grandchildren and family. Mr. Jones retired from TXU Electric in 1993 and moved from Weatherford to Peaster area - raised cattle and enjoyed riding horses. 

  A sister, Lois Cravener and parents, preceded him in death. 

  Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Patricia A. Jones; son, Stephen Jones and wife, Brandi of Peaster; daughters, Linda Hankey and husband, Don of Fredrick, Maryland and Debra Buchanan and husband, Rick of New Castle, Pennsylvania; brothers, Omer Jones and wife, Pauline of Jamestown, New York and Vincent Jones of Dayton, Pennsylvania; sisters, Elizabeth Clay and husband, W.T. of Lipan, and Susan Patton and husband, Roy of Erie, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Makenzie and Clay Jones of Peaster, Brandon and Jordyn Buchanan of New Castle, Pennsylvania, Sherry Hankey of Ford City, Pennsylvania and Dawn Kopp of Fredrick, Maryland; great grandchildren, Tyler Coeburn and Dylan and Parker Kopp; and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
  Funeral service: 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 14, 2011, in Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Richard Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of the Valley. Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Memorials: Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation.
