Phillip George Smith

Phillip G. Smith, 84, of Weatherford, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, in Willow Park. Cremation has taken place and all services will be private. In lue of flowers the family ask for donations to the Knights Templer Eye Foundation.

Phillip was born on July 29,1937 to George and Edith Smith in Chicago and grew up in South Bend IN. In his younger years, Phillip enjoyed saltwater fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He proudly served his country in the US Army. On August 23,1958 Phillip married Audrey Lootens and together had three children, Mark, Marcia, and Matthew. He founded P.A.S. Landscaping in 1963 and owned Mann Nursery in Weatherford TX from 1983 to 2000. Phillip was a devoted Mason and Past Commander of The Knights Templar at Holland Lodge #1 in Houston TX. Most of all, Phillip cherished his friends and family he was “loved by all.”

Phillip is survived by his children, Marcia Smith- Bishop husband Brad Bishop and Matthew Smith wife Janet Tate; his grandchildren, Kathryn Bishop, Shelby Bishop, Justin Smith, and Jacob Smith; and by his sister, Sharon Messenger of South Bend, Indiana, Niece Jennifer Messenger and her children Hanna and Jacob.

In addition to his parents, Phillip was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey and by his son, Mark Smith.
