Patsy Ora Pamplin

November 4, 1929 — September 10, 2013

Patsy Ora Whitley Pamplin passed away on Sept. 10th, 2013 in Weatherford.  She was born in Stamford, Texas on November 4th, 1929 to William Buford and Jenny (Clary) Whitley.  She graduated from Stamford High School in 1949.  She met and married Travis Paul Pamplin in 1950 and they had two children.

One of the many qualities admired in Pat was her great work ethic which started in her parents' cotton fields.  She worked at several interesting places including Woolworth's in Dallas at Big Town and as a truck driver for James Young's company.  She worked throughout the 1980s and 1990s as a waitress at the Iron Skillet in Petro in Weatherford. Her husband died in 1982. As a widow and with just her waitress salary, she helped raise two of her cherished grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ben Whitley, James Whitley and Tommy Whitley and two sisters, Helen Whitley and Ruth Whitley Hill.  Pat is survived by 2 sisters, Mary Whitley of Stamford, TX and Joy Whitley Lowry of La Porte, TX, and one brother, Frank Whitley, of Stamford, TX.  She is also survived by 9 loving nieces and 3 nephews.

Patsy is survived by her beloved children: daughter, Connie Pamplin Hatfield and Travis Lloyd Pamplin and wife, Laura.  Also, surviving are her grandchildren, Jill Lack Goen and husband Matt, Eric Lack and Marshel, Patricia Pamplin Nunn and husband Jarrod, and Elizabeth Pamplin Merritt and husband, Danny, all of Weatherford. She greatly loved her 5 great grandchildren, Erica Lack Morris and Jacob, Troy and Stephen Lack, Alicia Goen, and Jordyn Merritt, and one great-great grandson, Kaycen Morris.



  Graveside service will be in Avoca, TX at Spring Creek Cemetery on September 14, 2013.  Family visitation in Weatherford, TX from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Home.

Family visitation at  Kinney Underwood funeral home in Stamford, TX will be on Friday evening, September 13, 2013.
