Patsy Mark Williams

October 9, 1923 — June 29, 2015

Patsy Mark (Wooten) Williams left this earthly home at the age of 91 years, to arrive at her heavenly home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and reunite with the love of her life-- her husband of 72 years-- Bill.
Patsy was born in Oklahoma on October 9, 1923, to Arthur and Belma Wooten.  She excelled in scholastic achievement, being named Valedictorian for the ninth and twelfth grades at Handley High School in Fort Worth.  She was awarded a scholarship to Texas Tech, but unfortunately was not able to attend after high school.  Patsy married the love of her life, Bill, in December, 1941; and shortly after their marriage, Bill joined the U. S. Navy where he ended up spending almost two years stationed in the Samoan Islands.  Upon Bill’s release from the Navy, he and Pat started their family with Ronnie and Ralonna, and several years later, Russell and Rocky.  Patsy was the quintessential “stay-at-home” mom for many years, providing love, support, a spotless home and delicious meals for her family.  Patsy accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior as a young mother, and immediately immersed herself in the Word.  She became a proficient Bible teacher and served in Bethel Temple, Grace Temple, North Main Church of God, and the Church in Peaster, spending 53 years teaching young adults to retired ministers.  She also hosted many prayer meetings in her home.  She was awarded a special distinction of being named “The Most Outstanding Sunday School Teacher of the 20th Century” by Reverend Ted Gray and the North Main Church of God in Weatherford, Texas, in 2001.
After Patsy and Bill moved from their home in Fort Worth, to their new home in Peaster, both of which Bill built, Pat became involved in the Peaster Schools, teaching special needs children.  She proved to be a favorite among the students, teachers and administrators as well.  She enjoyed her time at Peaster School and often would recall special moments and special students over the years.
Patsy was an excellent cook and hostess and anyone who showed up at her home, even unexpectedly,  would always be provided some special treat.  She enjoyed hosting family events at Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, birthdays, and “just because.”  After the table was covered to the maximum allowable space with every dish imaginable, she would stand back and say “do you think we’ve got enough?”
In her later years, after Bill’s death, Patsy quit cooking the big meals.  However, anyone who walked in the door would hear her say, “Are you hungry?  I’ll fix you something good.”
Patsy was preceded in death by her adoring husband, Bill, in 2013.  She is survived by her sister, Genie Shannon, her children:  Ronald O. Williams, Sr. and wife, Jaynie; Ralonna Fitzgerald; Russell Williams; Rockwell Williams and wife, Mauriel; eight grandchildren:  Ronald O. Williams, Jr., and wife, Carole; LeAmi Pair and fiancé, Roger Phillips; Shane Williams; Mark Williams; Bailee Williams; Zachary Williams; Alana Williams and Patsy Williams; five great-grandchildren:  Kyle Pair and wife, Leslie; Kamren Pair, Kristopher Pair; Jeromy Williams and Rebekah Williams;  five great-great grandchildren:  Kyler Pair; Kaleb Pair; Kayden Pair; McKenzie Pair and Braeleigh Bennett, plus a host of other extended family members and friends.
The family sincerely appreciates the kind and compassionate care given by the staff of Integra Care of Weatherford, and a special “thanks” to grandson, Shane Williams, for his dedication and commitment in caring for both his grandparents over the past three years.

Patsy’s celebration of life will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, July 2, at The Church in Peaster.   Visitation will be Wednesday, July 1, from 6 -8 PM at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Home.  Interment will be at Dilbeck Cemetery.
