Even though she graduated from Silverton (Texas) High School, she identified with the class of 1963 of Brewer High School because she spent all but one of her school years in the White Settlement (Fort Worth) school district. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ worshipping at Brock, Texas for many years. She married Gary B. Williams on June 30, 1969 at the Westworth Church of Christ in Westworth Village. After a tragic automobile accident a few months after her marriage, she rehabilitated, graduated from Weatherford College, and worked as an accountant and office manager for many years at the office of Gary B. Williams, c.p.a. Norma accomplished all of this while confined to a wheelchair. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers-in-law, and one niece. She is survived by her husband of over 42 years, Gary B. Williams; one sister, Jean Mabry of Keller; one brother, George E. Gray of Westworth Village (Fort Worth); three nieces, Anita Gray, of Westworth Village, Juanita Gray Pratt of Ballinger, Texas, and Linda Vanderveer of Keller; two nephews, Lonnie V. "Butch" De Ment of Austin and Ralph Gray of Tulsa; one brother-in-law, Laurie E. Williams of Buffalo, Texas; two nieces-in-law, Laurie D. Williams Bishop of Gainesville, Texas, Karen A. Williams Morris of Jacksonville, Texas; two nephews-in-law, Edwin C. Williams of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Edward R. Williams of Weatherford; special friend and longtime-nurse, Carol Fisher, of Weatherford, and a caring office staff of Doris, Wanda, and Crystal who went far beyond their job descriptions to care for her. A host of additional relatives, friends, business friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ also survive. Her family is and will forever be grateful to her medical professionals who took such an interest in her, especially Dr. Anecia Garmon who tirelessly tried everything possible to keep her well, Dr. Larry Reaves who defied insurance company limitations to give her time to heal properly, Dr. Edward Tomoye who diligently tried to kill the infection combination which finally took her, Dr. Mark Kuper who fought hospital administrations to do a last effort surgery, and Dr. Earl Zurcher who made progress in giving her a greater level of feeling. We are also grateful to her banker, Martin A. Talley of Plains Capital Bank, who made it possible on many occasions to keep her medical expenses paid and to Thomas B. Wright of Wright Way, Inc., of Garland, Texas, who built and kept her handicapped van in top condition. Funeral services at Galbreaith-Pickard, 10 AM Saturday, January 21, 2012.
