Mona Morton

March 27, 1941 — February 2, 2009

Mona Morton, 67, of Weatherford, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2009, after a lengthy illness.  Mona was born March 27, 1941 in Childress, Texas and was a resident of Weatherford for many years.  She married Charles R. Morton on November 23, 1960.  Mona was an LVN over 40 years, spent 35 years with Campbell Memorial Hospital, retiring in May 2008. Mona loved to care for others and loved to teach others. She was a Pythian Sister for 41 years and touched everyone’s heart she came in contact with.  Mona’s favorite “job” was being Nanny MoMo. Katelynn and Ashlynn were the light of her life.  Preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Frankie Stroud, son, James Edward Morton   and four sisters, Rosemary, Terri, Sonja and Sharon. Survivors:   Husand of 48 years – Charles R. Morton, Son – Charles A. Morton, Daughter – Rhonda Morton, Granddaughters – Katelynn and Ashlynn Morton all of Weatherford, Sister – Lenora Jones of Childress, Brothers – Lanny and Billy Stroud of Vernon, Numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and her beloved Chihuahua, Bridge. 
Memorial service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, February 7, 2009 in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.  
Memorials may be made to the Weatherford Pythian Home, P. O. Box 239, Weatherford, Texas 76086, The American Heart Association or and charity of your choice.
