Minnie Lee Norton

Minnie Lee Norton, 91, of Weatherford passed away Sunday March 6, 2016 in a Fort Worth hospital.  Minnie was born December 28, 1924 in Melbourne Arkansas to Rufus and Lillie Clift Dowdle. She enjoyed fishing and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Minnie was the Union Leader for all of Amarillo Safeway Stores. She was a devoted member of Victory Baptist Church. Minnie was known for entering cooking contest at the Peach Festival every year, winning many first place ribbons. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Tim Norton. Survivors include her children, David Norton of Hico, Joyce Russell and husband Denver, Tammy Jones, Son in law Dennis Jones, Sherri Byrd and husband Bob, all of Weatherford; special grandsons and care takers, Zachary Jones and Brock Hibbs; grandchildren, Theresa Greigo and husband Jerry, Tony Russell, Jason Norton and Tanya Gill; great grandchildren, Ryan and Riley Russell, Tanner and Dalton Byrd, Jaiden Baliga, Michael and Jacob Greigo, Roman and Charis Gill. Honorary grandson Dustin West.

Funeral: 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.

Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
