Michael Wayne Swindle

Michael Wayne Swindle, 69, passed into his new life with Christ Jesus on Saturday, May 13, 2023, with his wife, Kay, by his side. Michael was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Donald C. and Nellie June (Thayer) on June 30, 1953.

Michael attended Mooresville High School before going to work for General Motors Corporation in 1972. He met and married Katherine Ann Yanoff and they were blessed with 3 wonderful children.

Michael worked at General Motors for 32 years, 17 of which were as a journeyman electrician. He and his family moved from Indiana to Janesville, Wisconsin and finally to Arlington, Texas where he retired in July 2006. He always said, “that any day in Texas is a beautiful day.”

Michael met and married Kay Lynn Davis in 2005 and they were blessed with 18 wonderful years together.

Michael is survived by his wife, Kay; and his three children, Ryan Michael Swindle of Weatherford, Texas, Stephanie Ann (Nathan) Stewart of Waco, Texas, and Christopher Justin (Michelle) Swindle of Fort Worth, Texas; and brother, Matt Lee (Cathy) Swindle of Belmont, Mississippi; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Mark Allen Swindle; and his first wife, Kathy.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Mary Ann Skiba and the staff at The Cancer Center for their care of Michael over the last 5 years. Also, Alpha Omega Hospice Care, especially Daniele, Heather, Stephanie and Tae for their excellent care for Michael and support for Kay.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at South Main Church of Christ 201 South Main Street, Weatherford, Texas. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. in room 213, followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. in the auditorium.
