Michael Harry Kays

Michael “Mike” Harry Kays, 82, of beloved husband, father, and grandfather, of Weatherford, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, in Fort Worth.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 1 P.M., on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street. Cremation has taken place and burial will be private.

Mike was born February 23, 1939, in St. Louis, Missouri to John Vincent, Sr. and Ruth Kays. He retired from General Dynamics after 25 years of service. Mike was a ‘world traveler’ and spent the last 22 years living in the Philippines. Mike always loved to travel either for work or for leisure. The next place he was going was always going to be the best! He never lost this thirst for new places and new adventures. Mike was known for his sense of humor! He could find the humor in almost any situation. He loved to laugh and enjoyed making others laugh as well. Most of all, Mike cherished time spent with his family.

Mike is survived by his wife, Merilyn of the Philippines; his children, Laura Kays-Haynes, Gary Kays, and Michelle Kays Witkowski; and by his sister, Carol Hinder.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents and by his two brothers, John Vincent, Jr. and Kenneth Kays.
