Mervin Joseph Gros

Mervin “MJ” Joseph Gros, 84, of Grand Prairie passed away, Friday, January 17, 2020 in Arlington Memorial Hospital. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, January 20, 2020 at Newberry Cemetery, 1301 Newberry Road, Millsap, Texas 76066.

Mervin was born December 18, 1935 in Napoleonville, LA to Elmo and Mabel Gros. His passion was winning souls to Christ. Mervin pastored Lakeside Baptist Church in Grand Prairie where he dedicated his life to serving the Lord. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Glenna Hurley Gros; children, Glenn Gros, Cheryl Shook and husband Dan; Jeff Gros and wife Chelda; sisters, Virgie Morrison and husband Barry, Bessie Webb and Barbara Landry and husband Gilbert; grandchildren, Angie Miller, Aimee Gros, Rachelle French, Audrianna Murph, Caleb Gros, Joshua Gros and Gavin Gros great grandchildren, Avery, Addison, Ben, Bryson, Andrew, Graham, Lenya, Me’Leyna and Lenny.
