Melba Janie Sager

Melba “Janie” Sager was born in Woodson, Texas on November 1, 1933. She left us on November 8, 2008 after a short illness. She resided in Weatherford for most of her life. She was an ER nurse at Campbell Memorial Hospital from 1960 until she retired in 1986. She then went to work for the Ft. Worth Star Telegram for seventeen years as a carrier. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Quincy Sager and her son, Dale.             She is survived by her husband Preston of Weatherford, daughter, Donita and husband Larry Driskill of Aledo, son, Donald of Sampson Park, step-daughter, Charlotte Oldham of Weatherford, step-son, Calvin and wife Lynn Sager of Chico, brothers; Clifford Biggs of Weatherford, Wayne and Harris Jr. Biggs of west Texas, sisters; Doris Lott of Franklin, Texas and Patricia Smethers of Arizona. She had 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.             Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday November 11, 2008 at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at East Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
