Melba Delois Duke, 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 7, 2019.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas, beginning at 11:30 am.
Melba was born on July 28, 1931 to the late Sterlin Clovis and Cloia Anna Larkin Tucker in Rising Star, Texas. She married the late Grover Wesley Duke, and together had four children. Melba worked for Birdville ISD as an Administrative Assistant until her retirement. She attended the 1st Methodist Church Smithfield. In her free time, Melba enjoyed sewing and square dancing, but above all she loved spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death be her beloved husband of 65 years, Grover Duke; parents; and brothers, Royis and Wade Tucker.
Survivors include her daughters, Linda Buck, Dianna White, and Leslie George; son, Gary Duke; sister, Carolyn Greene; brothers, Berney Tucker and Dickie Tucker; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Vitas Hospice or Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation.
