Marvin William Edgmon, Jr., age 77, of Weatherford, died Friday evening, May 6, 2011, in a local nursing facility. Born September 28, 1934, in Wichita Falls, Texas, a resident of Weatherford for several years. He was a retired Seismograph Manager, member of the First Baptist Church and USTRC. Mr. Edgmon was a Veteran of the Korean War and a recipient of the Purple Heart.
Survivors: daughter, Leslie Frances Douk and husband, Pat; sons, Marvin William Edgmon III, and wife, Glenda, and James Russell Edgmon and wife, Tracy; sister, Nancy Spencer; brother, Robert Edgmon and wife, Kathie; and six grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 10, in the Zion Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., on Monday, May 9, 2011, at the funeral home. Memorials may be sent to the Lottie Moon Missionary Fund, in care of First Baptist Church.
