Marvin Lee Blackwell

June 7, 1933 — February 18, 2019

Marvin Lee Blackwell, 85, of Weatherford, passed away Monday morning, February 18, 2019 in Fort Worth.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, February 20, from 6 until 8 at the Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, in Weatherford. A graveside committal service will be held at 10 A.M, Thursday, at Memory Gardens west of Weatherford.
Marvin was born June 7, 1933, in Fort Worth to Sam and Florence Blackwell. Marvin married Yvonne Campbell on November 2, 1963. He was long-time member of Grace Baptist Church. Marvin loved taking care of his home, his property and his horses. Marvin will be remembered for being a hard worker who had a big heart. He loved practical jokes. Marvin was willing to “help anyone in need.” Most of all, will affectionately be remembered for his love and devotion to his family.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Yvonne; stepson, Gary and Brinda Hicks; grandchildren, Vick and Bryan Taylor, Brad and Tiffany Hicks, Jessica and Michael Gilder; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Taylor Hicks and Christopher and Tosha Hicks; and by numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his brother, Buddy Blackwell; his sister, Helen Carter; and by his grandson, Michael Hicks.
