Martha Jane Morton

  Martha Jane Morton, age 73, of Weatherford, died early Tuesday, October 6, 2009 in a local nursing facility. Born December 31, 1935 in Weatherford, where she had lived all her life. Martha was a homemaker, retired Weatherford College Accountant, member of the Bethel United Methodist Church and member of the Retired Teacher Association of Parker County. 

  Survivors: husband, Norman Morton; daughter, Cheryl Morton; son, Derek Morton, all of Weatherford; two grandchildren, Tucker Morton and Maegan Davis; sisters, Ruby Peacock of Weatherford, Marie Bradley of Houston and Jewel Phelan of Weatherford.

  Funeral service: 10:00 a.m., Thursday, in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Interment: East Greenwood Cemetery. Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements. Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 7, 2009, at the funeral home. Memorials: American Cancer Society or the Weatherford College Foundation.
