Marolyn Diane Walker, known affectionately as Diane, peacefully departed from this life on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 72 years old.
Born on November 20, 1951, in Dallas, Texas, Diane was the beloved daughter of the late James Cryer and Joyce (Alexander) Cryer.
Diane's essence was defined by her profound love for family and her innate ability to infuse moments with joy. As a devoted homemaker, she found pure contentment in nurturing her family, whose presence filled her heart with immeasurable happiness. Diane enjoyed cooking and her kitchen was a place where love and laughter flowed freely. She found comfort in nature's beauty, relishing the vibrant colors of flowers, the melodic songs of birds, and the gentle companionship of animals.
Orange was her favorite color, and it reflected the warmth and vibrancy of her personality which is how she later became lovingly known by her grandchildren as “Pumpkin.” This name truly captured the warmth and sweetness of her spirit.
Diane is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Danny R. Walker, who was the center of her universe. She is also survived by her cherished children and their spouses: Eric and Amber Walker, Wendee and Jared McMillan, and Dusty and Laura Walker. Diane's legacy of love extends to her beloved grandchildren: Vega Healy, Allyson Healy, Maddison Healy, Mason Walker, Austin Walker, Brady Jackson, Logan Walker, Reagan Walker, and Aidan Walker. She also leaves behind her adored great-grandchildren: Izabella Williams, Serenity Walker, and Alexander Williams.
A memorial service celebrating Diane's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, February 19, 2024, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas.
Diane's legacy of love and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. As we mourn her passing, we find comfort and reassurance in knowing that she now resides in the embrace of our Heavenly Father where she experiences the joy of eternal peace and healing. While we grieve her absence on earth, we take hold of the promise that we will see her smiling face again one day.
