Marcell was born June 25, 1933, in Ryan, Oklahoma to C.O. and Mollie Lovett. Her early childhood was spent working in the fields and learning all the traits of a becoming a successful homemaker.
On May 26, 1950, Marcell married her childhood sweetheart, Harry Cole. In the summer of 1956, Harry, Marcell, and their three oldest children, Edwin, Barbara, and Jackie moved to the Brock community. In July of the same year, with only a small glass enclosure, Harry's Greenhouse was established. Another son, Myron, and several greenhouses were added as the family business grew into a major distributor of wholesale bedding and vegetable plants to such cities as Austin, Oklahoma City, Abilene, West Texas an the entire Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
Upon their arrival in the Brock community, Harry and Marcell visited the Brock Methodist Church. They immediately knew this would be their church home and became members shortly after. It was at this church they met their lifelong friends, Joe and Fern Jones; a close friendship that lasted over 50 years.
Marcell loved her church as attested by her gifts of time, service, and love. She served as church treasurer, song leader and on numerous committees for over 40 years. She spent her entire life serving others and took great pride in cooking for her family, church as well as members of the Brock school and community. She was a charter member of Brock Methodist's first Lord's Acre, an event that is still successful today. Turkey and dressing with all the trimmings and a country store where homemade items were made and sold was one of her most enjoyable moments each year. Her famous "Italian Crème Cakes" were also a highlight and were auctioned off for hundreds of dollars at church and community events.
Marcell's love for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren brought great joy and satisfaction to her life. She also enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the world with her husband, Harry. She decorated her yard for every holiday for many years and people came great distances to see her elaborate Christmas display. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
