Linda June Pierce

December 7, 1947 — March 16, 2013

Linda June Mitchell was born December 7, 1948 to Molly June and Ruel Boyd Mitchell in Plainview, Texas. Linda went to rest with the Lord, her mother and granny on March 16, 2013 in Sherman, Texas.  She graduated from Borger High School in 1967.

On December 29, 1970, she married Martin E. Pierce in Williamstown, Massachusetts and they had a son, Matt, born December 7, 1971.

After several years as a stay at home mom in Atlanta, GA, she graduated from Kennesaw State University in 1985 in computer science.  Linda acquired her love of travel from the time she lived in Hong Kong during the 1990’s.

In April, 2007, she married Stephan Paul and lived on Marco Island, Florida.

She had traveled the world as a computer system analyst for IBM and touched many lives throughout her 20+ years of travel with work.  They became like family to her.

Linda loved jewelry, cooking, traveling and, most of all, her family.  When she was not traveling with work, she liked Monday night bible studies and walking on the beach.

She was preceded in death by her mother; father; brother, Randy, who she called her best friend and her sister, Bobbye.

She is survived by her son, Matt and his wife, Laura, from Franklin, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Michael (14), Brian (10) and Danielle (9), husband Stephan Paul (Johnny) from Marco Island, Florida; a step-son, Bryson; a very “special” niece, Robin and her son, Ryan, of Mustang, Oklahoma; sisters, Barbara Penfold and husband, Larry of Stinnett,  Dena Chapmon of Stinnett. There are many cousins from both sides of her family who considered Linda very special because she gave so much and was willing to do anything she could to show how much she loved them.

She will be missed and remembered for the unique sense of humor and ways she cared for those she loved.  She was always thinking of others, not herself, even when very ill.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
