Lessie Marie Strickland

  Lessie Marie Strickland, 80, of Weatherford, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011 in a Stephenville hospital. Mrs. Strickland was born June 29, 1930, in Parker County, where she was a life long resident until moving to Stephenville in 2008. Marie was a billing clerk, a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She enjoyed her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

  Mrs. Strickland was preceded in death by her husband, Travis Strickland; parents, Clarence and Estelle Blackerby; and brother, Edwin Blackerby. 

  Survivors: daughters; Brenda Baldwin and husband, Lonnie of Stephenville, Donna Strickland and husband, Charles Marvin of Columbia, Missouri, Debbie Mangrum and husband, Sam of Stephenville; son, Ricky Strickland of Weatherford; sisters, Emma Lou Mann and husband, Edd of Weatherford and Clarica Burns of Cooper; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
 
  Funeral service 10:00 a.m., Friday, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Visitation 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday. Interment in Memory Gardens.
