Leonard Dombeck

March 13, 1949 — June 19, 2016

Leonard “Len” Dombeck, 67, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 19th 2016 at his home in Weatherford, TX. Leonard was born March 13, 1949 in St. Cloud, MN. A son of the later Joseph and Regina (Kuznia) Dombeck. He attended high school at Detroit Lakes High School in Detroit Lakes, MN and graduated 1967. After graduation he joined the Army Reserves stationed with a hospital unit stateside where he served our country proudly. After leaving the service, he then went to work for Tuffy’s Dog Foods where he first started his sales career. First married to Linda Jasken where they had two daughters. Leonard moved his family to Texas in 1979 where he worked for many years at State Fair Foods as National Sales Director. Leonard is survived by his wife Eileen Maull Dombeck of 17 years. They were married on June 5th, 1999. Leonard is lovingly remembered by his two beautiful daughters Tammy Dombeck Campbell and her husband Donnie - Azle, TX; Heather Dombeck Wakefield and her husband Brian - McKinney, TX. Two step-daughters Megan Johnson (Brian) - Virginia Beach, VA; & Erin Trimyer of Chesapeake, VA. Brothers and Sisters. Bernie (Margie) Dombeck – Cannon Falls, MN; Raymond (Barb) Dombeck – Apple Valley, MN; Theresa (Norm) Klovstad – Sun City, AZ; Betty (Warren) Vigen – St. Cloud, MN; Rich (Sandy) Dombeck – Hawley, MN; Jim (Irene) Dombeck – Moorhead, MN; Mark Dombeck – Detroit Lakes, MN. The late Bernice (Huns) Moltzan – Moorhead, MN. Seven Grandchildren. Cole and Drew Wakefield; Ryley and Liam Johnson; Hanna, Avery, and Claire Trimyer; many nieces, nephews and friends. Len enjoyed meeting new people, making lifetime friendships, being involved in the local community, politics and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed ice fishing in Minnesota & Canada with his brothers. He loved to dance and sing. He never met a stranger. He was lovingly known as “Len” or “Lenny”, “The Corn Dog King” and “Daddy Dombeck”. Funeral Service: 10:00am. Friday, June 24, 2016 at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, Weatherford, TX.
