Leroy Hott

September 24, 1930 — December 2, 2016

LeRoy Hott spent 86 wonderful years on this earth, but he passed away unexpectedly Monday, earlier this month.
LeRoy was born September 24, 1930, in Valley View, Texas to Otis and Dora Hott. He married the love of his life, Betty Janice Gaston, in 1950. Together they had three children.
Throughout his life, LeRoy worked hard and his determination made him successful in his endeavors. He worked for the railroad; General Dynamics/Lockheed Martin; began The Hub Clothiers in Weatherford, TX in 1954-1967; and he also sold uniforms to Southern Airways. LeRoy has been a faithful member of Calvary Methodist Church since 1954. He served on various committees of the Methodist Church for many years. He loved to farm and his family greatly enjoyed the fruits of his labor. He was known for wonderful 4th of July celebrations. He loved people and acted as an inspirational cheerleader for many of his family and friends. Since 1954 he belonged to the fraternal order of the Knights of Pythias, along with his brother, Granville. Through this work he was instrumental in introducing his mother to accept a position as a loving matron at the Pythian Home for more than 30 years. For 20 years he belonged to the National Guard, with one of those years being active service in the Army. He was proud that he served with distinction and earned the highest regards of his superiors. A little known talent of his was his ability to write poetry and acted as correspondent, writing animated coverage for Millsap High School football and basketball teams.
LeRoy cherished his family and is survived by his three children; Michael LeRoy Hott, Gregory Lynn Hott, and Lindy Carol Boyle; his four sisters, Elsie Wilson, Janie Humphries, Janice Taylor, and Bobbye Woody; eight grandchildren, Janice Hott, M. P. LeRoy Hott, Charles Hott, Emmanuel Hott, Patrick Boyle, Carol Shapiro, and Faith Boyle; and three great grandchildren, Robert Liss, Isaiah Hott, and Maximus Hott.
Preceded in death by his wife Betty Janice Hott; granddaughter, Kristen Hott-Barham; sister, Esta Ashcraft; and brothers, Granville and Carl Hott.
