Kirk Allen Martin

May 19, 1970 — October 22, 2021

A towering figure in many fields and crafts left this earth on Friday, October 22, 2021, after battling an illness for several weeks. Kirk Allen Martin came into this world on May 19th, 1970, in Arlington, TX. In 51 short years, he was able to achieve more than one person should achieve in 100. One of the many things that made him special was his ability to put his mind to a task and make it happen. By the same token if someone close to him wanted to accomplish something, he would not only find a solution but help them carry it out. Kirk had a talent for always making the difficult things seem easy.

Kirk recently celebrated 30 years of marriage with his wife Wendy. The Martins raised two beautiful and headstrong daughters, Taylor and Becca. The family made an abundance of wonderful memories traveling, boating, camping, and attending/competing in various motorsport events. Aside from being the cornerstone in his home and in the lives of those around him, Kirk Martin proudly served as a firefighter in Parker County for over 20 years, serving as a Lieutenant for several years, an engineer after the department grew into full time staffing, and often assisted the department with special projects.

One of his more prominent hobbies was dirt track racing where he earned many titles to include a southern regional championship, three state championships, and several track championships. However, the title he will always be known for and undoubtedly his favorite is “KMFM”.

The family-loving, firefighting, patriotic, wide-open-throttle driver of the #69 car is survived by and will forever be remembered by the aforementioned; Wendy Martin, daughters Taylor Marquez and Becca Martin, mother Ann Martin, sister Ann Gregg, son-in-law Mike Smith, grandchildren Brendon and Cash, nephew (bonus son) Austin Gregg, an enormous amount of family and friends, his RWP family, and the entire dirt track community.

Kirk was preceded in death by his father, Buddy Martin. They are both healthy now and smiling down on all of us.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 6th, 2021 at the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse Grounds at 11AM. The Sheriff’s Posse is located at: 2251 Mineral Wells Hwy, Weatherford, TX 76086.
