Kenneth Poss Hamilton

Byron Kenneth “Poss” Hamilton was born Nov. 12, 1930 in Quitaque, TX. He passed from this life Jan. 25, 2015 at home with his family. He was  a farmer, an air force mechanic, and Texas Highway Dept. Road and Bridge Inspector. He then became an agent for Allstate Insurance Co. where he worked for 30 years until his retirement in 1994. He joined the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse in 1970. He served in various offices and was captain in 1982. He was proud of being a member of the Posse and actively participated as long as he could. When he was no longer able to ride, he still attended meetings and helped in other capacities.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Byron Kerr Hamilton and Winnie Brunson Hamilton, his wife of 40 years, Joyce Hamilton and his wife of 15 years, Pat Goen Hamilton. He is survived by his brother, Jerry Hamilton of Weatherford; sister, Margaret Meeks of Hurst; son, Kevin Hamilton of Weatherford; daughter, Kena Hamilton also of Weatherford; stepdaughter, Patti Newsom of Mineral Wells; grandchildren, Hayden Hamilton of Weatherford, Tanner and Terra Newsom and Stephanie and Jaxson Booth, of Mineral Wells. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
