John Edward Shaw, Jr.

John Edward Shaw, Jr., 80, passed from this life on Sunday, December 18, 2022. John was born October 14, 1942, in Alta Vista, Kansas to John Edward Shaw, Sr. and Wilma May (Noel) Shaw. He graduated from high school and enlisted in the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country. Upon completion of his military service, he spent many successful years as a Claims Filing Clerk in the healthcare industry, retiring from Dallas Methodist Hospital. In retirement, he could be found sitting on his porch enjoying the view or lost deep in thought. John had a warmhearted disposition and was young at heart; qualities enjoyed by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John got along with most everyone, possessed good quality judgment, and could be philosophical to a listening ear. He will be deeply missed by his loved ones.

John is survived by his wife, Susan Watts of Weatherford, Texas; son, Mike Shaw and wife, Heather of Denton, Texas; daughter, Ronda Causey and husband, Bryan of Granbury, Texas; daughter, Melissa Brooks and husband, Eddie of Weatherford, Texas; daughter, Robin Campbell and husband, Billy of Weatherford, Texas; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and sister, Donna Howard of Independence, Missouri.

John was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Sharon Ellis-Shaw.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 22, 2022, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas 76086. Following the service, a procession will make its way to East Greenwood Cemetery, for burial. The service will be officiated by Rev. John Wallace.

The family invites friends and family to a time of visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at the funeral chapel.
