Joel Lance Forrest

Joel Lance Forrest, 73, of Weatherford, passed away Friday, August 20, 2021. He was born June 4, 1948, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Joel was a graduate of Arlington Heights High School and Texas Christian University. He was a US Army veteran and worked as a Registered Nurse for more than 36 years before retiring from John Peter Smith Hospital in 2011. He loved animals, collecting antiques and coins, building model cars and airplanes, the Beatles, and the #1 lunch special at Benito’s in Fort Worth.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Tara Forrest; daughter, Sabrina Mendez and her husband Alex; children by marriage, Lindsay Winburn and her husband Seth; Clayton Henderson and his wife Jesse; grand-children, Clara Winburn, Hadley Henderson, and Trigg Henderson; sister, Lonna Easter and her husband Bob. Joel is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; his dog, Frasier; his cat, Oliver. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph “Joe” Lee and Ocneta (Quisenbery) Forrest; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
