Joe Don Harrington

Joe Don Harrington, 75, of Weatherford, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, March 24, 2020, in Fort Worth. A graveside committal service will be held at 10:30 A.M., on Friday, March 27, 2020, at Annetta Cemetery.

Joe was born on February 15, 1945 in Weatherford to Raymond and Gertie Harrington. He proudly served his country in the USAF and was stationed in Alaska for four years. Joe married Lana Kay Holder on July 27, 1978. He served as a Police Officer for the Dallas PD for over 29 years. He was a member of New Faith Baptist Church in Annetta. Joe enjoyed outdoor activities including hunting and bird hunting with his faithful dog, Junior. He enjoyed traveling which included trips to Argentina and multiple hunting trips to Colorado. A friend to everyone, Joe “never met a stranger.” Most of all, Joe will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished time spent with this family.

Joe is survived by his wife, Kay; his daughter, Brandi and husband Ernie Kessner; his grandsons, Wesley, Kevin, and Dylan Kessner; by his sister, Joy Dale Prater; and by a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brothers, James and R.C. Harrington.
