Jerrie Addington

Jerrie Jane Addington most affectionately known to most as our beloved Grannie passed peacefully from this life at the age of 89, early Friday morning July 22, 2022. She has received exceptional care at Santa Fe Health and Rehab nursing center.

Grannie was born August 28, 1932 in Tempe, Arizona to Elsie May Stewart and Cortis William Currie. She married Curtis Eli Addington, the one and only love of her life, in Deming, New Mexico on September 2,1950. Grannie was a stay at home Mom raising 5 children. In 1971, her family moved to Weatherford, Tx. She loved sewing clothes for her kids and the porcelain dolls she made. She also did oil paintings, crafts and created wreaths. She loved shopping at second hand and antique stores. She found joy spending time caring for her numerous family members. After her beloved husband died she did cleaning at Campbell Memorial Hospital for a few years where she met many new friends.

Grannie was preceded in death by her Mother and Father, her sister Billie Jean Hamilton, brother Thomas E. Currie, the father of her 5 children, Curtis Eli Addington, daughter, Donna Sue Myers, son, James Curtis Addington, 3 grandchildren, Warren Jacobs Jr., Shea Dale Farris, Katrina Michelle Davis, and great grandson Shea Erin.

Grannie is survived by her younger brother David James Currie of Arizona, daughters, Linda Butler (Robert), Leslie LaMaster (Robert) and Jacque Weeks all of Weatherford; 11 grandchildren; Mark Burkhead (Amber), Bonnie Thompson(David), Robert LaMaster (Tran Nguyen), Richard LaMaster, Steven LaMaster, Jodie Williams-Carrillo (Jose), Josie Addington (Chris), Jerry Curry Addington, Melissa Simmons, Kristi Noakes (Brad), Ricky Weeks; 21 great grandchildren; Kayla Burkhead (Jacob), Karlee Burkhead (Tyler), Kaleb Turney (Allyssa), Whitney Morris (George), Ethan Burkhead (Cloe), Micah Davis (Ashley), Devin Davis, Wilson Wadkins, Michelle Spoon, Sarah Thompson, Kash LaMaster, Khloe LaMaster, Elexis Barker (Corbin), Jose Carillon, Anthony Carillon, Juan Carillon, Aiden Dorn, Hunter Sutton, Jordan Simmons (Brittany), Courtney Kimbriel-Simmons (Celesa), KeAndre Tankxley (Renee); 10 great great grandchildren; Aiden Rhoades, Aubrey Gray, Grace Salazar, Renae Tice, Haven Turney, Kinley Turney, Wyatt Turney, Cruz Capri Britten, Ryder Burkhead, Harper Simmons. Also she is expecting 2 more great great grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Visitation 6-8 pm Wednesday, July 26, 2022 at Gilbreath Pickard Funeral Chapel.
Graveside Service 10am Thursday, July 27, 2022 at the Oakland Cemetery.
