Jerod James Smith

Jerod James Smith, 50, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021. Jerod was born February 3, 1971 in Mineral Wells, Texas to James "Jim" and Lynne Rutledge Smith. He owned ProTex Construction. Jerod was a loving husband, fantastic father and was always the life of the party at any gathering he attended. He enjoyed making people smile and breaking the tension during serious situations by cracking jokes.  

Jerod was preceded in death by his mother, Lynne Rutledge Gilbert.  

He is survived by his wife of 8 years, Honey Spence; children, Chloe Smith,  Alexander Smith and Jayce James Smith;  father, Jim Smith and wife Louise; sister, Carmen Brown and husband Keith; brothers, John Justice and wife Michelle and Justin Justice; grandmother, Patricia Grove; nieces and nephews, Keinen Brown, Kyland Brown, Jackson Justice, Avery Stephenson, Marcus Greene, Courtney Greene, Sabella Carr, Kennedy Guest and Victoria Watson; mother-in-law, Patricia Spence; sisters-in-law, Angela Greene and Alice Guest as well as his best friend, Scott Voelkel.

A memorial dedicated to the celebration of the life of Jerod Smith will be held at 677 Gail Dr., Weatherford, TX 76085. Please join us for this special event on May 8, 2021 from 1:00-5:00 pm. Come by at your own pace to spend time sharing in the wonderful memories we have of him. There will be fellowship, stories, and laughs, as well as snacks and drinks. There is no need for formal, somber clothes. We request that what you wear matches the cheerful spirit of the gathering.
