Janice Lynne Peters

Janice “Jan” Lynne Peters, 62, of Weatherford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 17, 2020, at her home.

Visitation will be held from 1 until 2 P.M., on Tuesday, January 21, at the Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, in Weatherford, Texas. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 2 P.M., Tuesday, at the funeral chapel.

Jan was born April 27, 1957 in Fort Worth. She was a 1975 graduate of Hillcrest High School. She then attended Texas Tech. She married Steven Peters on December 15, 1979. They just celebrated 40 years of life and love together. She enjoyed running away to the beach to walk with Bella Reese at sunset. Jan will be remembered for her kindred spirit and fierce strength toward others. She had the ability to love and nurture everyone with her unconditional love. She taught others with non-judgmental ways. She cherished time spent with her family – particularly her daughter, who was her best friend, and her "grandloves." She took joy in the little moments she spent with them.

Jan is survived by her husband Steven; her children, Jennifer (Nathan) Sowden and Steven Peters, Jr.; her grandchildren, Taylor, Ty, Trenton Kade, and Tara Grace; her mother Diane Grayson; her long-time friend, Kimberly Smith and her children, Justice and Kaitlin; her sisters, Pamela Crawford and Shari Fox; and by her uncle, Stephen Anderson.

Jan was preceded in death by father, David Mitchell.
