James (Sonny) Oscar Haddock

d. December 22, 2009

James (Sonny) Oscar Haddock, 76, youngest of 11 children, went to be the Lord on December 22, 2009 to join other family members.  He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Ava Haddock; son Tim Haddock; three brothers Buster Haddock, A. C. Haddock, and Berl Haddock; and two sisters Leota Turnbo and Juanita May.  He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

Celebration of Life through Memorial Service: 3:00 PM, Monday, December 28, 2009 at the Aledo Church of Christ.  James’ first love (besides his wife Pat) was serving the Lord.  He was a preacher for the Church of Christ for 40 years.  He shared the gospel with many people in Oklahoma, Nebraska, Louisiana, Alabama, and Texas.  He had a kind, loving spirit, a smile for everyone and a very tender heart.  Even though he is gone he will always be held in high regard by those who knew him.

Survivors: Wife of 53 years, Pat; daughter, Kim Rand and husband, John of Chandler, Arizona; grandchildren, Brad Thompson and wife, Nicole of Mesa, Arizona, Tara McDonald and husband Wes of Huntsville, Alabama, Erin Haddock of Henderson, Tennessee; 4 step-grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren all of California; sisters, Loretta Campbell of Weatherford, Geneva Dixon of Weatherford, Edna King of Fort Worth, Jena Thedford, Ava Winton of Weatherford, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and Dr. Welch at Holland Lake Nursing Home for all the wonderful care and love shown James while there.  What a blessing they were and we love them for all that was done to make him feel comfortable during his time there.
